Fixed Casements

Fixed Casement Windows Toronto

A window that cannot be opened, whose function is limited to allowing light to enter (Unlike an operable window, which can open and close). Clerestory windows are often fixed. Transom windows may be fixed or operable. This type of window is used in situations where light or vision alone is needed as no ventilation is possible through fixed windows.

Fixed windows can be used on their own or combined with any operating window. Suitable for either very small or very large openings.  Fixed windows also provide cost savings and energy savings as they are both less expensive than operable windows and more energy efficient.

Fixed windows come in two styles:

Low profile fixed– AKA picture window, featuring a low profile frame, to be installed on their own or with traditional style windows.  these windows are used to maximize the light entering the room and to match the slider and hung frames.

High profile fixed – AKA fixed casement, to be combined with either casement or awning windows.  These fixed windows are constructed with a thicker frame to visually match casement and awning windows.  Once installed they provide a constanct visual flow of frame and glass..
